Core Objective and Match Flow
State.io puts you in command of a blue home base with a single goal: overwhelm the red state and claim the map. Each base displays a number representing the troops stationed there or the force required to capture it. You drag lines from your base to adjacent territories to send troops, and the progress bar tilts blue when your forces win. Capturing a territory adds it to your production network, so every successful move fuels the next.
Troop Management and Decision Making
Numbers matter more than reflexes. Sending too few troops leaves your attack short; sending too many drains your defenses. Enemy waves can arrive from any direction, so you must watch the map and intercept before attackers reach your base. Because conquered territories generate forces over time, protecting them is as important as taking new ones. The tension between expanding and defending is the game's central challenge.
Progression and Upgrades
Coins earned from matches can be spent in the main menu on three upgrade types: starting units, production speed, and offline earnings. These upgrades carry into future matches, giving you a head start or a faster troop flow. The game includes multiple maps and difficulty levels, which change the layout and pace of conflicts. Higher difficulties demand quicker reactions and more careful force allocation.
Controls and Platform Fit
State.io uses mouse or touch controls. You drag from your base to a target territory, and the game handles the troop movement. This simple input works well on both mobile and tablet, where screen size affects how much of the map you can see at once. The visual feedback—progress bars, troop counts, and color changes—keeps you informed without menus or complex commands.
