The Seven-Column Tableau
Each round starts with seven tableau columns. Only the top card of every column is face-up, so most of the layout is hidden until you move cards away. The goal is to move all cards to four foundation piles, one per suit, built in ascending order. Tableau cards stack in descending order with alternating colors, which means a red six can sit on a black seven, but not on a red seven. Any empty column can only be filled with a King. That single restriction shapes nearly every decision, because a King buried under other cards may not be free when you need it.
